The Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts presents its 96th Annual Juried Exhibition with a spectacular array of paintings, sculptures, collage, and photography. This year's exhibit was jurored by Craig Frederick, an internationally collected sculptor with an abstract minimal style, and Maris Platais, an academic realist painter and award winning artist. The opening reception is Thursday, June 14, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Numerous awards will be handed out to the extraordinary artists whose works were selected for inclusion in this special exhibit. This year's Best in Show is Del-Bouree Bach, an Elected Artist at the Mystic Arts Center, for his oil painting, "Morning Coffee" (pictured below). Other awards include (pictured left from top to bottom) the CAFA Photography Award to Brian Flinn for "One Dozen Bees"; the Allied Artist Award to Pamela Zagarenski, also a Center Elected Artist, for "Offering"; the CAFA Drawing Award to Steve Wilda for "Past the Destination; and the CAFA Painting Award to Sonja Weber for "Where the Moose Slept").
